Founded 40 Years ago in 1979 by Mr. John Haputantri, a marine engineer by profession, for the sole purpose of marine engineering.
Tantri manufactured its first trailer in 1982. As the demand for trailers increased, Tantri expanded its operations to Tantri Trailers (Pvt) Ltd as a trailer manufacturing and steel fabricating arm of the group in 1991.
Since then Tantri have designed, manufactured and exported many types of trailers and has been involved in many heavy steel and metal fabricating projects not only in Sri Lanka but, many countries around the world. Today, Tantri Trailers have expanded their product range further from trailers to tankers, construction plant & equipment, storage tanks, silos, structures, overhead and gantry cranes etc….
Tantri has been certified to design, manufacture, for sales, marketing and provide after sales service of trailers, semi-trailers, metal structures and tanks by the SGS ISO 9001-2008 quality certification.
